There are many ways to get involved at LHS!

 

From working a regular shift in the Lancers Landing School Store, to one-time volunteer opportunities for Back-to-School events, Homecoming, Special Olympics or Staff Appreciation, all parents are encouraged to actively engage at LHS and LPO events.

Board Member Volunteer Opportunities 2026-2027

We’d love for you to be part of the team. We are still looking to fill a few board and committee chair positions for the 2026-2027 school year.

The LPO brings parents together to support Lafayette High School, strengthen programs, and build lasting connections.

 


Co-Vice President of School Support 2026-2027
The Vice-President of School Support shall: - be responsible for promoting and managing the annual Lancer Direct Donation Campaign - oversee the following committees: Staff Grants, Lancer’s Landing School Store, Spirit Wear - fulfill needs of any vacant committee positions that fall under the Vice-President of Fundraising

Staff Appreciation: Hospitality Chair
Work closely with the Staff Recognition Chair, the school principal, and the principal’s secretary throughout the school year to provide donuts for the staff at the beginning of the school year, plan catered meals during the Fall Parent-Teacher Conference and Spring Parent-Teacher Conference, and a catered luncheon at the end of the school year.

Spirit Wear Chair
Collaborates closely with the LPO Executive Board to develop a strategy for spirit wear sales in both the school store and the online store. Work with local vendors to design spirit wear, negotiate pricing, and manage inventory throughout the school year.

Collaborate with the Rockwood School District Communications Department to manage the Lancer Parent Organization (LPO) webpages on the Lafayette High School website.

Community Events Chair(s) - Homecoming Judges Hospitality
This volunteer role does NOT involve planning homecoming events for the school. Responsible for securing and coordinating judges for the homecoming parade, as well as setting up and taking down the judges' stand in the neighboring subdivision before and after the parade. Assist the administration with any needs related to their participation in the parade.

This volunteer role does NOT involve planning the Special Olympics event for the school. Support the LPO's involvement in the Special Olympics by purchasing snacks and food to sell at the concessions stand during the event. Coordinate donations of snacks and food to sell as well as organizing LPO volunteers who will sign up to work at the concession stand during the event.

School Store Co-Manager (Operations)
Responsible for overseeing the school store parent volunteer shifts by monitoring sign-up on a weekly/daily basis, assess the needs for volunteers and store managers, and communicate with volunteers as necessary. Volunteer should have prior experience with the LHS School Store and be able to work in the store at least once a month. Most oversight can be done remotely.

School Store Shift Lead
